  As much art as a weapon, the secret techniques required to fold steel into the form of the infamous katana is known only to the Janissary ethnic group of humans located in South-West Alwaus. Each weapon is painstakingly crafted by artisan weaponsmiths, so katanas are rarely exported from the island chain of Greater and Lessor Janissary. Infamous for their ability to hold an edge, the weapons in truth rarely live up to their fearsome reputation - however they remain a popular item for collectors both within and without Greater and Lessor Janissary.   The most common design of a traditional katana is a curved blade of approximately two feet in length. Each katana takes hundreds of hours of work to create, and as such no two swords and exactly alike. Do not allow the weapon's beauty to dissuade you from it's true purpose however, as a finely craft katana is capable of cutting through an Aurok's head with a single blow.
