World of Alven - Worldember Pledge

Homework - Week 1

Word Goal

25, 000 WORDS

Main Focus

I will continue to focus on the places and customs of my fantasy novel, The Hollow Moons (working title). There is still much to tease out from the Summer Camp prompts.

Main Topics

  • Amotorr (the Order, the tower, the Knights, ,the Cave of Ouma etc.)
  • Denholm (the Keep's rooms and their secrets, the garden and the park, the clankeepers, the clanbearers' system etc.)
  • Northern customs and ceremonies (Farden but also further afield into Ramshead clan, list of articles already published on the matter and glossary)
  • The Thanes and the Frithlag (chronology, and more details on the ceremony)
  • The Power Rods and other object of powers (self-explanatory)
  • The Reivers' Marches (people, history, villages, the marsh etc.)
  • Healing Crafts and other Sciences (linked to Flo, main MC)

If I have time ...

I have made a list of ideas that came up to me during Summer Camp, so I might tackle other topics, including the Selkes, Alven armour and weapons, the Grey and Easter clans, Reidholm etc.
The Meta is fine, not a problem at the momenet.

Homework - Week 2

Review Homepage/Create a Primer

The idea of producing a Primer—even if I am writing a novel—is a good one and something I have not yet thought of.
However, I am not sure I am at the stage to write a Primer for Alven. I am still adding and changing many things as I write the first draft. Once the first draft is done, I will start on a Primer. It will be some time next year.

This month, I will, though, read the articles already published in this world and note what has already been developed. As I write more and more about Alven's different aspects, it is very hard for me to keep it all in my head!
I need a one-page reminder (with quick links) of everything that has been thought of before, along with ideas on incorporating the article information into the story.

Alven One-Stop Article

I do not need to discuss CSS again by now. This page will stay as simple as it is. In my opinion, investing time in CSS in my present situation is a waste of time. Not many people read my articles, and it is not one of my goals to attract readers to the site. It might become more critical later, of course. CSS can wait.

This means community tools can also wait. However, on my homepage, I will make sure I have the 'One-Stop Article' and this article forefront.
