Dodros

Born from the bowels of Tartarus, Dodros is the greatest warrior to have ever graced the surface of Karoj-Menos. Rejected by his mother Athena as an abomination made of stone, Dodros aspired to her sense of duty and state even while his master Ares sought to use him to kill his sister.

Simple-minded and resolute, Dodros seeks to protect the weak and vanquish evil. Even if those who issue him orders define "evil" can be very subjective.

Birth:

After getting away with three miraculous births, his mother Hellestine sought a child more noble than Archaenus, more resolute than Iodium, and more tempered than Aeonia.

Hellestine bargained with Tartarus to give her a shard of the primordial Baetylus Stone in exchange for a soldier who will shatter his gates, free the beasts inside him, and end his suffering.

So the matriarch craved a soldier from the Baetylus shard, encased it in molten sulfur, gifted it to Ares as a magic sling stone to kill his sister while whispering a fake prophesy into Athena's ear about a stone from Ares' head being the death of them both.

One day, during a meeting of the Pantheon, Ares challenged Athena to a sling contest. Swing the stone around with all his might, the stone slices through his sling and imbeds itself in the God of War's head.

Fearing the fake prophesy, Athena rips the stone out of his head and eats it. Nursing her brother back to health, Athena develops a headache. Unable to bear it, she cuts her head open as a fully-grown and fully-armed Dodros pops out of her head (similar to her own birth).

Adulthood:

Horrified at the creature she created, Athena tried to kill Dodros. Only to fight a 5-minute old stone soldier to a draw.

Ever since then, Dodros tried to live up to his mother's ideals in order to curry her favor. However, she refused to give it to her "son."

In fact, the shame she felt led the goddess of wisdom to investigate the unusual circumstances of Dodros and the other three "miraculous" births on Karoj-Menos to disprove her relation to the rock monster.

Meanwhile, Dodros lived out his nature as a creature of war and righteous duty as a soldier of the city guard.

However, no one taught him who was weak and who was evil; leading to criminals either tricking the simple soldier or getting pummeled to death by him.

Realizing nuance isn't his strength, the interim Karoj-Menos Captain of the Guard(while Archeanus is guarding his brother) assigns Dodros to guard the gates of Tartarus in a more black-and-white system.

Recognizing the creature made of the Baetylus Stone, Tartarus tried convincing Dodros to fulfill his oath to free the creatures inside him.

However, Dodros refused to compromise his duty and resisted the power of the primordial being.

That is until he met Aeonia who not only let her into Tartarus to obtain rare material but also to guard her as well.

Witnessing this development, Tartarus decided to release a few creatures from their cells to attack Aeonia and prompt Dodros to leave the gates opn.

But the infallible Dodros was able to rescue Aeonia and stopped any of the primordial monsters imprisoned to escape. As a result, Aeonia forged documents to transfer Dodros' post out of Tartarus and into her service as a bodyguard.

While protecting Aeonia, she used Dodros' infallible nature to trick the simple soldier into injuring her enemies and threatening political opponents.

By this time, Ares recovered from his injuries and saw in Dodros a capable weapon to destroy his sister. So the God of War took on Dodros as his ward and second-in-command, an angry Aeonia protested at this injustice.

Giving his new lieutenant a unit to command, he created similar stone soldiers he called Dodrians after its commander. And as a commander of soldiers, Ares was able to defeat Athena and her ward Archaenus soundly.

However, Dodros was never willing to deal the finishing blow to his "mother" or her ward the way Ares wanted.

Invasion:

Around the time when Archaenus and Iodium returned to Karoj-Menos permanently, Dodros was still protecting Aeonia even though his service was officially with Ares.

It was also when Aeonia was starting to get sick. So much so, she fainted in the streets. Panicking, Dodros looked for a healer to save his friend.

This is when he met his real mother Hellestine.

In a meeting with his three other siblings, Dodros was the hardest to convince to join the coup against the Gods. Aeonia eventually convinced him that his service to the Gods is null and void, seeing as its based on the assumption his family is the Pantheon when it's really Aeonia and their mother.

Dodros is told to wait in Tartarus to lift the Baetylus Stone out from the navel from Karoj-Menos. Once done, Tartarus will no longer be bound to Karoj-Menos and the monsters inside will be free to wreak havoc on the gods and tear their fortress world apart.

However, Dodros hear Aeonia's screams for help. Adamant that he must stay to free his burden, Dodros fights the monsters and Tartarus itself to safe her.

Pulling out all his final trump card, Tartarus threatened to extract the life he gave him if Dodros leaves Tartarus once again. Vowing on his honor, Dodros swore to complete the oath his mother gave him once he saved his sister, the angry primordial let Dodros go save Aeonia.

Now being an accomplice to murder, Dodros' resolve starts to crack. His service to Aeonia collides with his duty to protect the city and its citizens. Eventually, this friction starts creating physical cracks in his stone-like skin.

Spotting these weaknesses while Aeonia impersonates the dead Hephaestus, Ares calls his commander to a meeting with the Pantheon. During which, Aphrodite shatters Aeonia's disguise in front of the Pantheon after which she asks Athena to execute the murderess immediately.

Before the goddess can oblige, Dodros springs into action and nearly kills Athena to protect Aeonia. The duo are then thrown in prison with Archaenus.

During the progenitors' escape, Dodros is injured the worst as the fissures in his skin cause the invincible stone solider to be smashed to pieces by his master Ares.

Aeonia was able to save the scraps of Dodros and the bits of his "Dodrians."

While on Dyloth, she put Dodros back together again (establishing the Ritual of the Shattering). And even more so, create the process of birthing for creating a new generation of Dodrians born as children (changing their names to Lacdrians).

As the Patrokonoi-Hellecia mustered their forces over the centuries, Dodros and Aeonia created a new generation of Lacdrian commanders who would lead the squad of Archaenids into battle against the Gods and their Mycestian Stable Lords.

During the invasion, Dodros led the vanguard and personally killed Ares and fatally injured Athena & Poseidon, collecting their Ichor.

Aftermath:

After the Hellecian victory over the gods and their subsequent murders, someone manipulated the Cosmic Aurora inside Karoj-Menos' sun Helios to collapse into a supernovae.

Against his Lacdrian commanders, King Thesacles and even against his precious Aeonia; Dodros fulfilled his duty to free Tartarus from the Baetylus Stone just as the supernovae pulled the shattered golden planet into its gravity (thus reforming the Hellecian Sector into its various star cluster configurations).

In the end, the supernovae compressed the pieces of Tartarus, Karoj-Menos, the Baetylus Stone & residual COAG into a new element known as Pneuminite (or Dodrylite in Lacdrian).

This element is used to create new Lacdrian babies as well as a Pneuminium Alloy to create Lacdrian armor and hereditary hoplon shields. Many Lacdrians believe each gram holds the memory of their progenitor's sacrifice on that fateful day.

While trace elements of Pneuminite are scattered across the sector, most of the sectors' Pneuminite deposits swirl around a local Brown Dwarf Star. Thus the Lacdrian's home cluster known as the Asteroid Range of the Taygestronese was created.

Seeing as this mineral is their heritage and birthright from their progenitor, Lacdrians (now called Lanaxdrians) and their Diarchy within the Lanaxdrian Warrior States protect pilfering by unaffiliated Aeonite miners, Ionite colonists or Delot salvage drones.
