Personal history
The "Frozen Core" is an incredibly powerful magical artifact, that belongs to a tribe of sentient avians.
It got passed down from shaman to apprentice for so many generations, that the knowledge of it's origin got lost in time.
Upon activation, this core unleashes a formidable burst of colossal frostwaves, with the power to cool everything in the world down to sub-zero temperatures and by that, wipe out most life living on it.
Only the most cold-resistant creatures in the world, such as the aforementioned avians of the tribe, could stand a chance of surviving. How big is that chance? Nobody knows.
The current shaman of the tribe, swore to herself as a child, that she'd never unleash the Frozen Core.
But as she grew older, her world fell into grave danger, as hordes of never-before seen, sizable insectoids descended from the heavens. They attacked her tribe, destroyed her home and annihilated all living creatures in their way.
When the tribe was attacked, many members died and the rest had to flee instantly, losing track of each others whereabouts in the process.
The Shaman now lived alone in hiding of those insectoids, that were everywhere at this point and she felt forced to make the severe descision, that had been haunting her with immense fear and grief, ever since the insectoids invaded:

Mental Trauma
An enourmous weight of guilt, that rests upon her starry wings, ever since she unleashed the frozen core.
She has adjusted from the trauma, tho it still affects her so intrinsically, that she doesn't even notice most of the times, when she says something earth-shatteringly cold and dark. She accumulated a rarely-matched weight to her aura and every word she speaks, thanks to it.
