The Twin Towers nearly brought down

Local Heroes foil Terrorist attack September 11th, 2001   Local New York City heroes, Arachnid, Bronx Brawler, and the Greenwitch Queen were instrumental in preventing two planes from being used to destroy the Twin Towers. The heroes are to be celebrated tomorrow.   September 15th, 2001   The attempt to destroy the Twin Towers has been traced back to an Iraqi terrorist cell, and when asked about it, the Pentagon claimed to have had no prior knowledge of the coming attacks and thanks Valiant, The Mountain, and Asgard for acting so quickly to prevent the planes from destroying the American Landmarks.   One related news, a third plane that was revealed to have been taken over by another group of the same terrorist is still missing.   September 17th, 2001   Information has been unearthed showing that members of the Pentagon had been informed of the coming attack and were told to let it proceed. Who exactly gave that information is unclear, but it was traced back to the executive branch.   September 19th, 2011   The missing plane was found in Prince William Forest Park when 911 received a call from a confused passenger asking if they could send someone to pick him up because he had a date with his wife. Five terrorists were found huddled in the back of the plan babbling incoherently.   While the sequence of events has yet to be determined, due to a high level of confusion among the passengers as to what exactly happened, and how long they were in the air. Many of them claim one person was responsible for subduing the terrorist without even laying a finger on them.   The description of the man varies wildly, but had this in common. He was male and spoke with what was described as a heavy British accent. And that he didn’t get involved until one of the terrorists shoved a weapon in his face. Once the take-down was over, one of the passengers claims the man told him “If they hadn’t been so bloody inconsiderate I would have let them get on with whatever this was.”   By then the plane was on the ground, and the man no longer on it.   September 24th, 2011   Deputy security adviser Wayne Downing steps down. In a press conference, Deputy Security Adviser Wayne Downing announced that he would be stepping down from the position as the result of his mishandling of the information and event leading to the attempt to destroy the Twin Towers.   As an explanation for his lack of actions, he stated that he didn’t consider the intelligence he’d received compelling enough to bring up the chain of command. He is thankful for the supers for their interventions and which quiet times to his successor.
