Lady Mystique

Little is known about the person Lady Mystique might be outside of her 'accomplishments'.   She first appeared in 1958 when she attacked an apothecary, destroying it to cover her track when the authorities arrived.   She showed up on and off throughout the sixties before dropping off for almost the entirety of the 70s after her involvement in the Stonewall Riots, where she kept the police off the men and women protesting for their right to exist and be free. She was chased off by White Hood and was suspected dead until she reappeared in the early eighties. White Hood was never seen after that incident.   She was last seen in 1993 when she tried to assassinate State Secretary Eagleburger; where she was killed by State Victory, one of the Members of the Steward. While the attack failed, it led the man to take a different position at the Capitol.   Rumors she is still alive surface every so often, but if true, she has yet to do anything with the same level of visibility as before.   Throughout her career, she has been described as a young woman with brown and gray hair wearing a 'mystical' midnight blue robe with a hood she often kept pulled over her head. Due to the consistent description over her 35 years career, the veracity of her appearance has been put in doubt, with specialists adding that her ability with magic means it would be simple for her to case an illusion impossible to tell from reality. Her involvement in the Stonewall Riot has even made some claim she is actually a man under the disguise.   The majority of her large crimes have been against the government or known 'agents' of theirs.   She has been recorded, during a battle against the villain Mud Slinger, when they attacked the same institution, as stating she is seeking to free the American Citizens from the government's enforced control of their lives.   After the Jacksonville Incident, her image has started being used by protestors, proclaiming that she had been on the vanguard, warning them of what the government would do to supers if left unchecked.   If she is still alive, and the use of her image like this offends or emboldens her, Lady Mystique has not come forward to claim her place in what could be a return to (in)fame(y) for her
