Brownie

A bipedal humanoid, symetric body plan. Prehensile tail (though their entire body plan is actually not set in stone, they are shapeshifters, they prefer this body plan however.) Arms typically 3/5ths as long as their height. Leg length usually the same length as their torso.   The species stands around 3ft to 4ft tall, their tail as twice as long as their height. Their tail also has the strength to hold up their entire weight (which admittable is unknown). Though this tail seems to be an extension of several senses not dissimilar to that of an communications antenna. This tail hosts many functions to the species, the main one being that it changes the sub and hyper sonic frequencies the species can hear.   Their ears are well shaped to pick up a vast array of frequencies, this is discussed more in Medical Text: Goblin ear structures. Their inner ears are an incomprehensible intricate series of tuning bones and frequency detection. Taking up nearly half the interior of the skull cavity along the access along the temporal bones of the skull.   Though, this does not mean they are unintelligent, their brain his quite dense and deeply loped. Whereas, for example, a member Cetacea have a complex structure to understand sound and it's various frequencies, as well as many bird species having a wonderfully large vocal range and the capacity to understand it, the Brownies surpass them all. Their brain is built primarily around the ability to understand and interpret sound.   They typically prefer to display very short, almost unusable claws on the ends of their fingers and toes, it is though to improve grip on their native planet that they almost never change out of this Primary Form. They do display sexual dimorphism, and are generally considered mammals, though this is largely up for debate due to their aforementioned shapeshifting. Though, in their Primary Form, spotting a male is much more difficult than spotting a female. Males tend to share the same slender, frames as the females. The only noticeable difference at a glance is that the females tend to have both longer tails and mammalarys.

The psychology of the Brownies is one that is very much based in clans or family units. Merging families to form larger societies very quickly, those many of their base rules stay the same. Hierarchically the clan chooses a lead female and male to take direction from, which they call Mother and Father. Where "lesser" males and females fill in those roles on smaller scales, called Brothers and Sisters, all other members of the clan are given the term "Child".   They base their entire identities around their family units and are quick to bring in others to change their identities and expand their viewpoints. This is thought to stem from their ability to shapeshift, and their very fluid motion up and down in their societies. The only true constant they hold is "The Great Mother" the goddess they follow. Beyond her, their roles and duties change as the need arises, a highly social species that enjoys spending time in the presence of other living creatures.   They will mimic their goddess in the aspect that when being spoken to by a Brownie, they will often wrap their tail around them, this is seen as an affectionate behavior. Should a Brownie speak to you and not do so should be all means be cause for an alarm. They hum and sing constantly, communing with the world around them, changing it in subtle ways as the frequencies that make up Namix are altered to their will.   They will, often, risk life and limb to protect other forms of life. This was demonstrated to an extreme degree at the start of The War of the Shadows, where Brownie Casualties were always exceptionally high. Thought to be a cognitive hold over from their creation by the Great Mother. It seems to be a subconscious action on their part, unable to keep themselves out of business that does not concern them.

The full range of their hearing in not entirely well understood, though their eardrums still vibrate in technically perfect silence. Able to still hear even in absolute zero, their auditory capabilities are second to none. Though the range of their hearing is unknown, there have been tales that Brownies have been able to faintly hear conversations on the other side of planets. Though, up to much speculation, their range is impressive. Where most would hear silence, a Brownie can still hear in the sub sonic and hyper sonic ranges to the point were they can hear the sound of light as well as the ambient background radiation of the universe itself given the right circumstances.   Their eyesight seems to run at approximately 120herts, and able to distinguish many features down to a microscopic level. Thought, telling the difference between cell structures is not in their repertoire, with an eyesight of 20/1, with a profound ability to differentiate color. Their vision appears to be based more in ultraviolet spectrum, though they can see the visible light spectrum without any issue. This would appear to give them an exceptional view of the light coming form the night sky. Able to see a wider array of light and emissions from distant planetary bodies, as well as stellar bodies. Vision surpassing creatures like mantis shrimp in color, eagles in clarity, and owls in low light conditions.   Vocally they have a set of three different vocal chords, making them tri-vocal species. Able to make separate use of each chord, meaning that while one is doing something, the other two can be doing separate tasks. The species makes use of this in the way they use songs, and communicating. Their vocal range is also much wider than that of other species, when examined their average range is 3hz-0.1THz. A vocal range that seems to be as wide as most of the "sounds" emitted by the universe itself.
