He stepped back, fearful of her. Him, the God of Ambition, conquest, Domination, he was WRATH! The shattered piece of the Fifth Brother! His own nature rebelled at his actions, yet he couldn't stop, he was a piece of Entropy, and here he was scared of one of the Children he had created. She held that bag of Vilorlith's blood, those stones that burned him so long ago when he tried to claim them for himself when he slew he and all her people's Mother.
She smiled sadly at him, after all that had happened, she smiled at him. "How are you keeping the other Shadows from entering here?" He roared at her, a reality shattering sound. Yet she effortless repaired the damage his stolen voice had done, "You have either a nerve of steel, or are a damned fool for coming here, girl!"
"I'd say you picked up the bad habit of condescension, but you were like that to my people this entire time, even more so to our Gracious Mother." She said without inflection, she only continued to walk toward him, drawing that damned Saber from thin air.
"I demand to know how you are stopping my Siblings from entering here!?" He roared again, his horns burning with that false crown a top his head.
"There are more than a few things you seemed to have overlooked, Oh Dear Father. Are you scared?" She responded with a melancholic expression.
"I have missed nothing! I killed Vilorlith the first time, and I will do it again! Syn was eaten by Azu! Kyln was made a puppet by Welkford, the only one we could never touch were those damned Children and the Queen! We had reawoken the sickness inside all those we infected and we beat back the Quartet again! Tell me what I have overlooked, child." Still, Bhal stepped backward as she continued forward, undaunted.
"I am not Anlyth, I am not Taneth not am I Y'vitol. I am a child of the gods born into the darkness you and the Shadows created. I am something more. I do not need the Quartet, I know their pain and all the damage you had done, but I do not share it." She was suddenly right in front of him, faster than he even recognized. Like she was always this close, only letting his mind think she was further away.
"I had never known their love until you and the rest of Entropy decided I was a threat. Only Vilorlith loved me without condition, while you abused me and my people. You turned friends and allies, enemies and horrors into true monsters. I am still your priestess, however." She reached into her chest, plucking that Blessing he gave her oh so long ago from her soul, and placed it into his hands. "I am no longer."
"I did what I had to to keep all you filthy creatures alive for EONS."
"Do not lie to me" She said as her Saber removed his hands. His hands, the hands of ambition. "You did that out of spite to Vilorlith. Beating us down, forcing us to endure and suffer as an act of punishment for the crime of being her children. But, I must thank you for the only thing you have ever given me that I have cherished."
He recoiled as the blade effortlessly sliced through his body, his hands evaporating before they even hit the ground. He wasn't aware that could happen, even the Quartet never took real damage. "You had always forced us to learn through hardship, every challenge you threw at me, every plan you used against me, every single trial that broke my mind and soul, only made me stronger when I survived despite your best efforts."
She booted him in the chest, as her eyes burned far brighter than the Quartet's had ever had. Fledging god she was, yet nothing like the others. "I loved you, I had always believed your teachings as a child. I tried to tell myself that none of this was happening, yet at every turn there you were acting against me, your daughter you had given your blessing to. You are the only one I could never forgive, I will make Entropy whole again, only without you."
He tried to run, yet he was held there by her voice, her song far more powerful than the Quartet had ever been, far more enchanting than Vilorlith's had ever been. Her laugh was a sad thing, broken. "That's the thing, I've left behind everything you killed inside. I am both a child of Shadow and a Child of the Great Mother, I am both and neither."
"You, you, what divine right do you have!?" He tried one final time as he crawled backwards away from her.
"The Quartet always gives their children the choice when we are ready. I am Ilgor, I will bring unification and balance, I am the one goddess that the Quartet never needed for they were one. I am the one goddess that the Shadows need for you are broken. Yet, I cannot allow you, Wrath, to rejoin the whole. Your sins cannot be undone."
