The Red Temple

Built upon one of the lowest peaks of the Red Spires, the Red Temple is the holiest city within the Samru Empire. The city is considered to be the birthplace of the Red Emperor and the birthplace of the Rising Sun. Originally only a small temple was built to allow the Red Emperor to have a place to meditate in peace. Over time citizens of the Samru Empire would begin to take pilgrimages to the temple to offer prayers and gifts to the emperor. Slowly a small city would begin to form on a lower peak near the original temple. As the city began to expand, the emperor would decide to move many of the faith's high ranking Vis'tru to the city. Upon their arrival they would begin construction of a temple to house the Vis'tru and establish the city as a holy site for the Rising Sun.     

The Rising Sun

The Rising Sun refers to the religion established by the first Red Emperor when he took power. The emperor spoke of a great cataclysm that would come and cleanse the world in holy fire. He declared that the Red Emperor was chosen to lead his people and through faith in him they would be spared and rewarded with a new world that was reborn in fire. The emperor would speak of how the rising sun would grant great power to any who would hold the title of Red Emperor. Using his power over the great flames the first Red Emperor would unite all the tribes of the Sowes and the Miri. His unnatural long life would forever hold the Red Emperor's power over the people. Over time his unnatural long life would make him a god among his people.    

Pilgrimages

Every year tens of thousands of faithful will take a pilgrimage to offer gifts and prayers to the Red Emperor. It's said that some of the more fanatic followers will brave the lava fields to place gifts at the Ma'han.
