The Dunwich Society

Shrouded in mystery and professional cover ups since before the war, this organization is what most would consider a shadow government. They form the leadership of the ghoul Syndicate, keeping peace amongst the diverse cultures in order to protect their interests. Making use of a network of hidden installations and bunkers across the Great Dust Bowl, few would be able to find their headquarters even with Pip-Boy coordinates.

With motivations as secret as their exact origins, their intentions in Kansas are based on rumor and happenstance. It is clear to some that they are seeking something underneath the sands, often leaving behind evidence of large-scale excavations and the mass graves of the slaves that worked on it. Whatever it is, they either need a lot of it or haven’t had much success.

Hailing from different branches and agencies of the pre-war political regime, they possess an arsenal of power armor and energy weapons. A full motor pool of military vehicles is supported by vertibirds and even a few functioning jets, allowing them to dominate both ground and air when they decide to move on an objective. This strength is not without its logistical flaws in the post-apocalyptic world however and is a rare sight across the wastes to see them fully mobilized.

Mission Statement

Maintaining the house of cards that keeps the branches of the ghoul syndicate from tearing each other apart is key to their continued influence. This alliance allows them to dominate the region with an iron fist. Even communities that live outside their settlements feel their pressure, often having to coordinate day to day operations based on syndicate movements.

Holding up a mystery this long doesn't come without breaking a few eggs. Routine inquisitions and cover ups come with the territory, and members can expect suspicion should they fail to pull a trigger when ordered.

Finding various forms of fuel is another key in their war machine, not to even mention the maintenance required just to keep main roads clear of major obstructions. Over half the positions in the Society are tied to behind the scenes logistics. The search for new resources and the tricks to exploit existing ones is as important to their strength as their military forces.
