Krüks

The earliest mention of this city is in 2326. Back then it was only a small settlement directly on the shores on what is now referred to as the last sea. Its inhabitants were mostly fishers and craftsman which is why it laid so close to the water. Something that was soon discovered were the star anglerfish and the chemical compound Plutonium. Back then the people had no idea what Plutonium could be used for or that it would become so important in the future. Since the settlement was build so close to the water though, the earliest buildings on the shore sunk below the water line over time. Some parts of the early wooden huts are still somewhat perserved down in the sea covered by new layers of mud. Which is why diving near the shore is not recommended to the common folk of the city. The settlement grew and the people moved futher up the shore line. After having space issues they started to build the city up. The buildings were connected to the mountains surrounding the city. After the invention of the elevator in 1143, the city rose up even higher. In the city's blueprints one can see that the highest buildings reached up to the clouds.

Considering that people started fleeing more and more to the center of the great darkness as to not dissolve into nothingness, Krüks became a place were many different creatures, people and cultures meet. Over 80 languages are being spoken in Approximately 32 Million people reside in the city. It is recorded that over 80 different languages are being spoken in the city. Around 16 different religions are actively being practiced which does not count the many different variations that exist of the main 16. The most widely taught language is Krukianian, which already is an odd almagamation of different languages and dialects and even then most people residing in Krüks are still at least bilingual due to the efforts of the people themselves to perserve their own culture.

The city is organized in a ring grit, very much aligned to the curves of the mountains in the distance, since the upper layers use them as support. At the center of it all stands the library. It is the biggest building in the entire city and includes both emergency storages and the office of the current elected ruler of the city. It is the most well guarded place in the entire city.
