The Sight Orbs

Due to how important they are, and how incredibly costly they are on top of this, it is reserved only for the very highest echelons of society, and even then, it was usually only the Golden Dragon who had most of them, as an easy way to communicate across the empire. Nowadays, they reside in the Great Library, in the Room of Omens.

You first require a powerful magician who is able to balance the magic that is being cast so that the power is spread evenly between the two orbs, you require the creation to be incredibly precise as you need both orbs to be exactly symmetrical and have no imperfections, and finally you require a swift but precise cut between the conjoined orbs, allowing a flat side that can transmit information.

Being able to communicate quickly was one of the main concerns of the empire early on, as messengers were unreliable and not very fast, and so research into how one could use objects to allow quick communication was created. In terms of discovery, it was theorized that since glass orbs could be used to store information, then perhaps if two orbs were melted together, then were cast information storage spells upon them, and then separated, that despite this that they would both retain the same information, and be able to broadcast to each other. It took many attempts, but finally, with the help of the Golden Dragon himself, they were able to create the very first Sight Orbs, who immediately became key to the imperium's conquest in the orc savannahs.
