The Thalassic Layer - General Facts
The world is arranged in 3 layers: the Sky layer, the Gloamwood layer and finally the Thalassic layer; a deep network of oceanic caves beneath the wood.
Not much light makes its way down here, so bioluminescent life is very common. Roots from the stronger trees in the Gloamwood above reach down to the oceans and lakes that flood the caves.
Rare crystals can be located in certain parts of the Thalassic, including high-grade Ohtoo crystals that can be used to supply oxygen in respiratory equipment or vehicles that venture into low-oxygen environments.
The Thalassic layer is largely unexplored by 'sky-dwellers', but is populated by various species including Deepwater elves.
