Lithzen Peak
Capital of the Talonik Empire
Lithzen Peak is the home of the Talonik Empire's royal family and its central citadel, where much of the Empire's war planning takes place. Much of its culture is steeped in pride and warrior traditions, and the people hold a lot of reverence for the image of its founding Champion: Talon the War-Keeper and his associated Eldritch the Many-Wing, avatar of the winds.
This peak used to be the home and a favoured nesting ground of Cyclone Condors: mighty rok-like birds with the power to create hurricanes by flying in rings at increasing speeds. Unfortunately, overhunting from poachers and northerners who viewed these birds as menaces drove them to extinction.
Geography
Lithzen Peak consists of several tiers of wide, flat plains held aloft by sheer cliffs. The cities and towns are built close to the center of the peak, tucked under stony overhangs and into crevaces to protect their buildings from the harsh winds that beat down on the land.
The base of the Peak reaches into the Gloamwood at a sharp downward drop, giving a grand view to the 'Wood below, where a winding river can be seen passing on its east side. At night, the older trees of the 'Wood glow red, barely visible through the thick clouds that wreath the peak.
Ecosystem Cycles
For half of the year, temperatures can be relatively warm despite the high winds, and there are short, two month long winters once a year right after what is considered harvest-time. These winters drop to harsh temperatures and feature the most biting and constant winds of the year.
Before the extinction of Cyclone Condors, they used to migrate to the lower plains every three years straight after winter and carve out the earth with their tornadoes to prepare the area for nesting and raising of chicks. These tornadoes kept the ground healthy and fertile in the interim between nesting seasons. In their absence, spells are being developed to allow people to churn the earth on their own.
Climate
Lithzen's climate is windy year-round, with frequent unpredictable thunderstorms though rain is not guaranteed. Even in the absence of Cyclone Condors, tornadoes are a common occurrence.

Oh no, poor Cyclone Condors. :(
