Once, she gave special favor to the northern city of Arawn, which was once a center for those who specialized in laying the dead to rest and easing their passage into the next world. According to legend, Merope had many followers in Arawn who loved and revered her, and in order to show their love they misguidedly began to practice death magic.Their dark magics attracted the attentions of a great dragon, who judged them to be a danger to the rest of the continent, and destroyed them along with the rest of the city.

The Goddess was much saddened, and ever after did nothing but weep, and no longer listened to prayers or empowered her followers with death magic. Because of this, very devout followers of the Sisters believe that anyone who now practices death magic does so by dealing with Demons and is thus committing a grave sin.
