Black Iron
Black Iron is the colloquial name given to a unique steel alloy primarily used by the Squats in the construction of various machines of war. In ingot form it resembles a bar of cast iron but polished and buffed to a smooth, semi-glossy finish. Though it is heavier than basic steel by a factor of 3, it is much more durable, with a quarter-inch plate being capable of deflecting armour-piercing rounds capable of penetrating four-inch thick steel plates.
