Beskar
Beskar is an extremely rare and durable metal found almost exclusively on the planet Mandalore and its moon Concordia.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Beskar is nearly identical to raw iron in appearance.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Beskar has nearly identical properties to raw iron with the exception that it is monstrously durrable. There are accounts of one inch thick plates being cappable of resisting direct, continuous, heavy weapons fire for over a full minute before losing any structural integrity.
Geology & Geography
Beskar is almost solely found on the planet of Mandalore and its habitable moon Concordia.
History & Usage
History
Since before the Age of Strife, beskar has been used to make nearly indestructible armour and weapons. However, much of the knowledge and technology needed to work the metal has been lost.
Discovery
Unknown, Pre-Scream Era.
Refinement
Unknown, Handled by pre-tech
Manufacturing & Products
Armour, Bother personal and vehicular
Weapons, both melee and as coating
Weapons, both melee and as coating
Reusability & Recycling
Any amount of used beskar is sought after and reused by skilled smiths as it is incredibly rare.
Distribution
Trade & Market
Trade of beskar and beskar products is highly regulated by the local government of Mandalore.
Storage
Stored as ingots
Law & Regulation
Depending on induvidual laws of local territory. It is illegal to ship beskar ore or ingots off of Mandalore and Concordia, only finished products.

Type
Metal
Value
3 million Credits per pound of refined metal
Rarity
Very rare
Odor
Nearly identical to pure iron
Taste
Nearly identical to pure iron
Color
When processed into a rouch ingot, beskar is of a dark matte grey colour. After it has been worked by a smith with proper knowledge of how to work it into armour or weapon, beskar takes on a matte steel colouration.
Boiling / Condensation Point
Unknown, beskar has been known to survive close proximity to high energy stars for limited amounts of time without vapourizing.
Melting / Freezing Point
Beskar's melting point is strangely fluid. Under normal circumstances it is so high as to be impossible to melt without vapourizing the forge used to melt it. However, using ancient pre-tech machinery, beskar can be melted at the same temperature as iron.
Common State
Solid ore
