The Iron Creed of Rho

Look down, for thy feet rest on Cabali soil. The timber thine home and hearth be made belongs to the wilds of Thana'Savia. The devils lay with devils 'neath their doctrine of doom. So hark thee to the creed of iron, tenants true. The Blood of Rune boils.
— The Iron Creed

Across many settlements of Kerine, especially those on the fringe of Idoran jurisdiction, documents have been appearing pinned to homes, stores, posts, and crates. Trailing down into the dirt, the scroll speaks of lands not lost but stolen and resources pillaged. It speaks of the Cabali War, Idoran injustice, and the Blood of Rune. This document, known as the Iron Creed (formally the Iron Creed of Rho), has sparked a renewed interest in investigating Cabali insurgents and loyalists within Idoran territory and, occasionally, prejudice towards those of goblin heritage.

Purpose

While the author has not come forth to discuss the reasoning behind the manifesto, it is clear through its prose that it declares the ruling Idoran Empire an evil consorting with evil. Furthermore, it seems to want to spark frustration and irritation among the populace, particularly those whose ancestors were part of the Cabali Dynasty, and direct it against the empire. For those with no ancestral ties to the dynasty, the manifesto tries to discredit the authority of the empire through denunciation.

Document Structure

Clauses

The manifesto is split into three tenants that make up its creed, each progressing further into more aggressive action.

  1. The Heart of Silver: The opening section of the creed discusses the discovery of the real truth, the Idoran Empire was sent by The Devils to drag the Cabali into their Braumfaturas in the Idorans' stead. Turn away from your 'neighbors' and 'fellow citizens,' for they wish for your downfall so that they may be spared. Treat with brothers and sisters, those who truly see the empire and its sins.
  2. The Goldtooth: The creed then shifts into more of an active voice in the public. Speak with your brothers and sisters. Not all are dogs of the empire. The honeyed words of Aelin's kin serve as succor, but your words must cut like a blade. Our voices sing like blades on steel in chorus, freeing those around us as their promises rot into the soil.
  3. The Iron Palm: The creed ends on a call to violence, or at the very least organized aggression against popular figures of Idoran politics. When homes stay whole and words fade in silence, the Blood of Rune boils. A hand once extended in peace and unity now open, calloused and scarred. You are not alone, Rho and your kin would not abandon you. Let your flesh be iron and break their chains.

The meanings of Blood of Rune and Rho are still unknown, at least by the greater population of Kerine.

Caveats

The parameters of the manifesto are laid out without a strict timeline, though through its writing it indicates action might be taken soon by the parties publishing this document. Overall, the document seems to demand the return of the lands granted by Duv'Enral Tolvir to the Idoran Empire when the Tirians first settled in Kerine. If not heeded, as per the clauses of the manifesto, conflict may begin to erupt across empire settlements.

Publication Status

The document is publicly accessible to an extent. Idoran agents and even Witnesses are occasionally sent to locations where the manifesto has appeared, destroying all copies of it in order to quell any negative sentiment. The deeper into Idoran territory one goes, the less likely it is that the manifesto is accessible for anyone in the public.

Legal status

The document is viewed in many ways, all of them negative. The Idoran Empire views the Iron Creed as traitorous, with those harboring copies of the document in their home considered traitors to the empire and punished accordingly. The Doctrine of Hell & Earth view the Iron Creed as heresy, describing Tirians as equivalents to The Devils and the denizens of their Braumfaturas. In lands outside Idoran control, the document has a negative connotation to it. However, it is not illegal to interact with and own as it is in empire territory.

Historical Details

Public Reaction

Upon first release to the public, all citizens were confused and worried. Those who were of goblin descent began to suffer increased prejudice due to fear of rebellion by their neighbors. Other citizens would begin to close themselves off from their community, believing that sleeper agents from the dynasty were planning their demise. Some embraced the manifesto, preaching its tenants across town squares.

It wasn't until officials from the Idoran Empire intervened that panic began to die down, and open support of the document soon shifted to a whisper.

Legacy

The manifesto is seen as an embarrassment or blemish on the Idoran Empire by the public. Within closed doors, officials believe it to be an infection that may be slowly spreading throughout empire territory.

Tensions between those of goblin descent and the other races of Kerine, after finally stabilizing into relative normalcy, has now been knocked off balance. Though not nearly as bad as it was post-war, there are those which openly share their negative sentiments to the detriment of the greater public cohesion.

Reports of raids and minor conflicts on the outskirts of empire territory have been attempted to be linked to the spread of this manifesto, though evidence at this time is middling at best.

A document that arose from nowhere, preaching on the injustices of the Idoran Empire and demanding the return of stolen land.
