Campfire Collection: A Ryuutama Fan Zine

Campfire Collection brings a lot of fresh concepts, fixes some of the problems Ryuutama had as a system, and makes even more interesting many of the star features that make Ryuutama such a fun TTRPG.

I am thrilled to share my involvement in a community-created fanzine for one of my favorite tabletop games, Ryuutama: A Natural Fantasy RPG by Atsuhiro Okada.

Published February 27th, 2025, Campfire Collection contains over 200 pages of new material designed by fans, for fans. It features work from more than 25 creators – and I'm honored to be one of them!

This was such a fun project and turned out beautifully. I authored a section of the Campfire Collection: Ryuutama Community Zine, adding an additional homebrew class, the Familiar Handler. It introduces a new animal type with more features than typical animals in the game and related mechanics for those who wish to tame magical creatures and keep them as familiars. The zine is organized by creator sections, called Notebooks. You can find a preview of my Notebook below.
