Strahd, seeking out entertainment, sends out the loyal Vistani to collect those that would be fitting adversaries for the dark lord. The Vistani  find many candidates but ultimately choose a group unfamiliar with one another on their way to help re establish a newly reinstated noble of the Neverwinter
