Calendar of the Five Realms
Humanity has divided the 331 days of a year into seven months; Pavera, Verna, Aestiva, Serotina, Autina, Rissona, and Hyberna. Each month consists of 47 days, with the exception of Autina which has 49 days. These months roughly match up with the seasons.
They additionally have sub-divided the passage of time into weeks made up of eight days. These days are named; Moon Day, Terra Day, Water Day, Air Day, Fire Day, Sacrifice, Sun Day, Rest Day.
Humanity, as well as most other races, track the passage of the moon Lune across the sky. Lune has a cycle of about 23 days, which nearly matches up with three of the 8-day weeks. There are two lunar cycles per month.
Sixteen days, or two weeks, is known as a Span, or less frequently as a Span of Days. The Span of Days is also the name for the typical spread used by oracles when performing a card reading. Some Loremasters say that the term came about in reference to the time from the first old moon to the last full moon.
