Europa

Above Ithaca lies the old defence network from the solar scramble which today serve little purpose outside of looking scary to potential attackers. The planets main defence lies in the earth home fleet which is only a 5 minute jump from engaging any threat.

Water extraction

Water is pumped on mass from the sea below up the space lifts to massive water tankers to supply CoN colonies with a continual supply of liquid water

Data Processing

Due to the large supplies of water cooling for AI data processing and the ice sheild preventing loss even in the event of an apocalyptic event.      

Data Storage

  For much the same reason as processing the unparrelled safety of Europa makes it worth every penny of the extra expense of making sure every AI, communication and file gets a copy backed up to Europa.   

Micro processors 

Micro processors are almost exclusively produced here despite the lack of reasources both because Europa has the largest need but also because of the truly enormous amount of water required to manufacture them.

Weapons Development

While no large ship based weapons or large explosives are developed, Europa is the centre for small arms and vehicle development with testing in the Corfu Editable Environment Centre (CEEC) which with multiple climate models and variable terrains from indoor mountain terrain to dense jungles and swamps allowing a wide range of testing enviroments for each developed weapon.

Surface

The lone city of Ithaca pokes above the surface of the ice, with its eight space lifts in a ring around the city allowing for export off world. Also serving as the capital of Europa the city boasts a massive population of 64,000,000 (2500) along with almost all the farming infrastructure to feed the moons population (still relys on imports of food from earth). The only other notible areas on the surface is the remains of the PASO colony which was abandoned after the CoN seige ran food supplies low. 

Subaqueous

While Io has its large defensive arrays to protect the vital construction industry, Europa without a single modern defense system despite the importance of the planet instead has a 40km thick sheild of ice making the moons vital industries completely safe from any outside attack short of a multi year seige to starve the colony out.  Largest cities under the ice:
