Elected by the Commonwealth of Nations collective parliament ministers after they are elected themselves in their local consistuancy
Duties
The duty of the treasurer is to keep the wider economy of the CoN functioning from annoucing the budget to being the head of the government run industries of the CoN such as the international rail, common steel, the Clyde Orbital Ship Construction Complex and many more.
Responsibilities
Most of the tasks in the roll is finding creative ways to justify increases in the naval budget while attempting to balance the continual economic crisese that periodically face the CoN and the rampent poverty that still pervades large sections of the empire. The treasurer is ulitimately simply the figurehead of a swarm of organisations and interests that ultimately controls reasource alocation for the vast complex machine that fuels the army.
History
Created to head up the common redevelopment fund during the post war recontruction, the treasurer of this fund then took on the roll of heading the leveling up commission to give investment to less wealthy nations within the organisations common development fund. This would morph slowly into a roll held by ministers in an elected capacity by the 1970s before the emergency powers act of the 14th of February 1983 formally forged the roll into the head of the CoNs economy.
