Elemental Steel

Can be crafted with a finer degree of workmanship than any known metal.

Elemental Steel is located at the varied points of impact when the Elemental deities were flinging their essences towards the creation of the three Greater Deities.

Any metal that was in the vicinity of the workings of the Elemental Deities when Creation was being wrought was transmuted into elemental steel.

Dwarves are thought to be the first to discover Elemental Steel. They certainly mine the most of it. In fact it was a halfling who had fled down a ravine to escape a pack of gnolls who truly discovered it. The ravine led to a cave in which the halfling ventured. Deep under the earth he found a strange metal. This was the first true discovery of Elemental Steel. This halfling, name lost to the annals of time, came out of that ravine with a few pounds of the ore he managed to pry free. It was sold to a dwarf who lore says crafted an axe of unmatched skill.

The rich and affluent have weapons and armor crafted from it. Anything crafted of Elemental Steel is of a finer quality and durability over standard steel counterparts. Part of this is because only Master smiths are entrusted with using this material.

Standard forging . Once the ore is mined and melted down to barstock no other refinement is needed.
