Scene: Excuses and Apologies #7
"So, uhh... am I the only one getting kinda hungry?" I ask after two episodes of sexy smouldering dragon men.
"Yeah, I thought I'd go get us something," Kass answers thoughtfully. "You guys just stay here - Alea, you don't look like you're in the shape to go anywhere anyway. Need anything?"
"Painkillers... something salty..." I say, feeling like I couldn't even get up if I tried. Well maybe to let out some more bile from my empty stomach.
"Chips and dip!" Zeldine adds.
"I meant food-food," Kass sighs. "Whatever, I'll find something."
"Are you sure we shouldn't come along?" I ask even though I really don't wanna go.
"Yeah, you two hang out - catch up a bit," she says as she leaves. I guess she's right - we should get back on track. I still feel horrible about everything.
"Look, Zel, I'm really sorry about hitting you," I start. The table looks like a real safe place for my eyes, but I force myself to look at her nervous yellow eyes.
"Oh, hey, water under the bridge, right? - let's see what's up next on this channel!" she diverts instantly, but I put my hand softly on hers as she reaches for the remote.
"No, no, it's not just "okay and let's move on" - please just let me say this," I keep my eyes on her, and she gives up with a sigh. I know honest talk is uncomfortable to her, but I feel like this is important.
