An October Hike #7: Something to Get Winged Off
"Been trekking many places then?" I backtrack in our conversation and put on a more sober expression.
"Uhm, yeah. I traveled the world for a bit some years ago," he answers bemused. "Have you been abroad?"
"Never," I sigh: "It's something I would love to get winged off my bucket list ...but I'm between passports at the moment."
"Well, if you get the passport in order, let me know," he responds with a soft smile. "But we better get back to the others and get on with the hike."

A half lie. I really would love to travel, but the global news about changelings and feykind is always grim. Some countries try to treat us as humans, but many fight tooth and nail against our existence. And on top of that comes the risks of traveling alone as a woman. God, I guess I'm lucky if I get to go further than Garden City. What a depressing thought...
