Skenmir

Racial Skills: [[[Secret Knowledge]]] 2, [[[Scaleskin]]] 2 Racial Traits: [[[Cold-Blooded]]] 2     +++ History   The Skenmir are an ancient race of lizard-like peoples who consider their lineage to have branched off from a shared ancestor with the [[[Golba]]] during the [[[Early Unmaking Interregnum]]]. The lineage includes the ancients [[[Shodurians]]] of [[[Tuath]]] in the [[[Age of Screaming Statues]]]. Their kind has been on Geron in one form or another for a great many ages, appearing as the [[[Ethisar]]] in the [[[Age of Star Cauldrons]]] and later as the [[[Kothans]]] in the [[[Age of Choking ash]]].   The Skenmir's Three Kings War is a source mythological racial tension, particularly for those who believe that the early Skenmir religion and its later re-emergence in the kingdom of Thadria led to the rebirth of the god Ganderwa. The Skenmir historically worshipped a deity which the Skenmir now identify as having aspects of he Great River, The World Eater and the That Which Binds.   There are [[[Skenmir#Kymir|Kymir]]], [[[Skenmir#Turasi|Turasi]]], and [[[Skenmir#Jorian|Jorian]]] subspecies. Those opting to not choose a subspecies may choose any two traits belonging to any of the subspecies but also gain the [[[Traits#Mongrel|Mongrel]]] trait.   ------   + [[[Kymir]]]   The Kymir trace their lineage back to a Turanghian or Amathian group of [[[Ethisarians|Ethisari]]] who evolved unique methods of survival in the [[[Empty House Interregnum]]]. The Kymir are able to manipulate the color and texture of their skin and are equipped with long, prehensile tongues similar to to those of the [[[Tuathi]]]. This tongue is incredibly quick and covered in a sticky mucous and is used to catch flying or crawling prey that don't notice the Kymirian hunters. The Kymir are also equipped with large, independent eyes capable of seeing and tracking fast-moving objects.   All Kymir have the [[[Traits#PrehensileTongue|Prehensile Tongue]]], [[[Traits#KymirSkin|Kymir Skin]]] and [[[Traits#Globe-Eyed|Globe-Eyed]]] traits.   ------   + [[[Turasi]]]   The Turasi are an ancient offshoot of the Skenmir who are thought to have weathered the [[[History#Highwinter|Highwinter]]] in the east mountains after the destruction of [[[History#Thrask|Thrask]]]. They have a highly ritualized society which places a great deal of emphasis on self-reliance. They have the [[[Traits#Feathered|Feathered]]], [[[Traits#SharpToothed|Sharp Toothed]]] and [[[Traits#Casteborn|Casteborn]]] traits. They gain an extra stack of Advantage on [[[Secret Knowledge]]] checks.   ------   + [[[Jorian]]]   The Jorian Skenmir are slow but poisonous, having shed the feathers common to their ancient ancestors in exchange for a thick, scaled hide. They have the [[[Traits#PoisonBite|Poison Bite]]], [[[Traits#ScalySkin|Scaly Skin]]] and [[[Traits#VomeronasalReceptors|Vomeronasal Receptors]]] traits.
