Plans for the Summer
Can I succeed in this summercamp?
Clearly I must trust in the heart ofthe cardsworldbuilding.
It has been a while hasn't it? Been mostly doing stuff in the background too much for me to really get anything proper released these past months, so hopefully Summercamp can give y'all something better than absolutely nothing from me.
Nourishment
Goals
Since I've been stuck with so many other projects and real life issues, I think I'm going to keep things short and simple with a copper badge. Summercamp is fun for ideas but trying to keep fitting these ideas into Fabulae as it solidifies gets tougher with each passing year.
Focus
Really like the rest of it, I think I should bother getting some stuff done around Sichelan like before, expanding upon the cultures and governments, local lore and more. Do something to maybe add to the less explored areas or parts of the continent.
Updating Things
To be frank, I've been trying to fix and improve a lot of articles I had lying around, cleaning them up, adding new art and doing just things to improve what's already here but I've been hitting a constant loss of motivation at the finishing touches. Wanting to keep adding to articles, not knowing when to stop, or even just finding good ways to structure and design them to the point I end up locking up in terms of choice paralysis.
So I'm probably going to just bother with doing some small adjustments for now and see what I can get out before the event begins.
Roots
Origins of Fabulae
Fabulae really is just the brainchild of me getting exposed to Bravely Default's intrigueing worldbuilding and my exposure to DnD and tabletop games, only to spiral off into wanting to make a setting of my own. A creation more than a decade in the making by now, having gone through a lot of changes.
Doesn't help that the very early protoypes of what became Fabulae also were just painfully fanservice and questionable at times. Blame a teenage mind overexposed to the internet and with no boundaries and restrictions in mind.
Luckily nowadays a lot of that stuff has been either toned down or made more tasteful, still exploring some wild things occasionally but trying to make it more interesting to read than just some erotic fanfic from somebody who just learned what sex was.
World Introduction
Really just something I should be looking at better someday, I tried to rewrite it months ago but like the rest kept it half-finished without ever getting the final parts written down. So I might handle that in the upcoming days and finally complete it.
Metamorphis
Genre shift
One genre I don't think I've really explored a lot is just detective/noire style stuff, alongside exploring criminal underbelly and crime solving shenanigans. So I might actually use that as a basis to expand upon some crime syndicates and mysteries related to them.
Who knows maybe columbo shows up.
Changes
Fabulae is right now going through a major reformation of power, so there's a lot of things changing as we speak. Not to mention a lot of smaller things like happening between them, so there's definitely enough things happening for me to work off with.
Influence
Honestly, I haven't really been able to watch a lot of new works on here after cleaning up (and struggling to find more stuff due to the abundance of AI usage), but from the few I do think I need to allow myself to be a bit more fantastical and weirder with my setting, allow myself to explore wilder ideas and more amplified parts of the setting.
Week 4: Tomorrow
Events
Honestly right now there aren't any major events that can have big meaningful impacts, mostly just again shifting powers and things getting discovered. Who knows, maybe they'll uncover something or something happens that will make a major shift in the world happen.
