Nightstone

Nightstone is a fortified town located near the Ardeep Forrest, in the hills between Waterdeep and Daggerford. It is connected to the high road via a side trail. Over the years, the villagers of nightstone have had bad relationships with the wood elves who inhabited the Ardeep Forrest, owing to Lord Drezlin Nandar's hunting. This eventually culminated in an attack in the village, herein Lord Drezlin and half of the villagers died. his widow, Velrosa Nandar, negotiated peace with the wood elves and spent years maintaining that peace by the late 15th century DR.   Sometime after 1485 DR, the village was bombarded with large rocks by a cloud giant floating castle. Many of the inhabitants were crushed, but those who survived fled north into the Dripping Caves outside the village. Once abandoned, the cloud giants descended on Nightstone and stole the village's oblesk, believing it to be an artifact of the ancient giant civilization Ostoria. Inside the caves, the villagers encountered a clan of goblins and a pair of ogers, who proceeded to capture them.   No more than a day after the attack, The East Waterdeep Trading Company Shareholders of Branch X arrived, fending off the goblins looting the town and fending off a group of interloping Zhentarim agents intent on infiltrating the weakened town and adding it to The Black Network. After securing the town, The Shareholders ventured north to The Dripping Caves and "relocated" the monstrous inhabitants and rescued the trapped townspeople. Once the townsfolk were safely escorted back to Nightstone, The Shareholders took possession of The Dripping Caves, as well as the naturally occurring geothermal spring inside. The Dripping Caves was promptly transformed into a Spa and Bathhouse known as "The Best Little Whorehouse in Faerun." an establishment that still stands today.
