Elven Culinary Traditions

There is a saying in the Adventurer's Guild, 'don't buy food from Elves.' While many may not know the reason for this word of caution, there are real reasons behind it.   Elves are almost exclusively carnivorous. They, as plants, find the idea of consuming plant matter odd, and would much rather devour the flesh of animals, and indeed, other sentient races instead.   While the consuming of sentients is all but disbarred from most modern Elvish settlements, there are still small sects who continue the practice, and a few others who do so as part of special celebrations.
