Criminal Activity
On the evening of Gozran 11, 1800 CE, Hasina Sebekem, a priest of Sekhrem-Ra, was found dead within the abandoned Temple of Talona in Y’Matara’s Worker’s Quarter. The priest had been implicated in the kidnapping of a bard named Isiris, following an altercation. The alleged motive was retribution for perceived abandonment during a sandstorm.
According to unofficial accounts, a group of adventurers tracked Hasina to the derelict temple and confronted him in the sanctum below. During the confrontation, Hasina Sebekem was slain. His death occurred under contested circumstances, with conflicting claims regarding self-defence, vigilantism, and premeditated murder.
The city guard arrived too late to intervene. While evidence—such as ritual damage, magical discharge, and a broken containment ward—confirmed a violent conflict, no formal investigation was pursued. The Shemsu-Ra later deemed the site “unclean,” and the temple was sealed.
