Born on Earth around 25 B.F. to a middle-class family, Axel was one of the lucky ones in a time when mass starvation was a major cause of death in some nations. A journalist, he was fascinated with the incredible scientific advancements available in his time, but his morals eventually drew him to investigating political corruption and corporate impropriety, actions that did not earn him many friends with authority. The Fall is not a time that he likes to discuss. Despite high ideals and a professed willingness to do what is right, neither had been tested to the degree it was in that most terrible of conflicts. There are still things he will not discuss having done, even a decade on.
He's always found himself on the outside because of his guilt. Though he wasn't a member of the Scum Barge Chimeric, he spent most of his time there and was caught up when they were expelled from the fleet. Though he wasn't a member of Firewall, he used his network of contacts to provide agents information. He decided to stay on Prospect, for once between crusades. But the miners' plight has piqued his interest.
