Grava Tyx

The Val'aar are famous for many things, their magic included but one of their masterpieces is Grava Tyx. The only artificial floating mountain left since their gracious fall. The surface area is as large as a small city but it is far from a city. The island is inhabited only by a few wood elves that have protected the magnificent wilderness. It is said that an elven druid permanently enchanted the grove. Once upon a time, it served as a safe-haven and resting place for primarily birds but also some land born animals. The druid's name has been lost to time but ancient scripts indicate that he healed and restored many rare species of birds that were close to extension, especially after the fall of the floating cities.   During the war, the druid did however fall in a battle over the island with an old forest dragon named Nirvinth. She controlled the domain for many years, also bringing up her young on the island but was defeated by a party of dragon hunters during the final years of the second age. It was led by the daughter of the original druid and she has protected the island until today but no one knows if she is even there anymore or if she has passed on to the feywild.   Legend says that the dragon's original hoard exists here and that its magic still lingers and affects the area.
