    Arrival of the first Humans to The Elder Expanse via the coastline of the North Sword Coast.

    Moving inland, they venture into the outer mountains of Gurnruhm on to the small town of Luskan.

    Red Wizards of Thay attack the Covenant’s school
    Military action

    The Red Wizards of Thay, against alternative magical teachings - Attack the Covenant’s school in Neverwinter, killing Aganazzar; scattering any remaining Mages across the Elder Expanse.

    Failed Attack on Gurnruhm
    Military: Skirmish

    Struggling to survive in the frozen coastal wastelands of Luskan, the nomadic Humans decide to ransack Gurnruhm's rich ore supply.
    The failure cost them dearly, throwing them into a 3 month skirmish against the Dwarves.

    Starving and depleted in number after the failed attempt to attack Gurnruhm and the following retaliation by the Dwarves; the remaining humans loose their home of Luskan and are pushed out across the North Sword Coast as nomads once more.

    The Dwarves move in, reclaiming Luskan - making it a port for trade.

    Establishing Neverwinter
    Founding

    After years as a homeless, nomadic group within small populations around the North Sword Coast, the Humans claim Neverwinter , locking control over the region for humankind.

    Conquering Phandalin
    Military: Skirmish

    Realizing the resources within, the Humans of Neverwinter take the small mining town of Phandalin from the Goblins and Orcs occupying it; strengthening their hold on the North Sword Coast and gaining the resources it failed to take from the Dwarves.

    The Northern Pact
    Diplomatic action

    After the original failed attack by the Humans on Gurnruhm, the Dwarves retaliated against them with nearly 3 months confrontation and attack.
    However, due to the saving of a Dwarven child from an Owlbear by a group of Humans, a temporary pact of peace is agreed between the North Sword Coast and Gurnruhm.

    The Taking of Elderhaven
    Military: War

    Struggling for resources and seeing the tactical advantage, the Humans and Dwarves working together as the Northern Pact to take Elderhaven from the High Elves.

    The High Elves are forced from their land into the nearby region of Elmwood Grove.

    Elderhaven is claimed in the name of the Emperor.

The Second Rising

Drawn in the by the history of Dragons, their power and promise to return - many move against the Emperor and the Expanse.

    Moving West
    Founding

    Drawn by the history of Dragons, their power and promise of return - a large group move away from the nomad lifestyle of the Humans - settling on Drakkenbone island. Shortly afterwards word is heard that populations from across The Expanse are drawn to Drakkenbone with its promises.

    Reports start of ships arriving on the southern coastline of the North Sword Coast. This is the first sighting of the return of the ancient Cult of Dragons.

    The Rise and Fall of The Cult of The Dragon
    Military: War

    The Cult of Dragons, previously satisfied working with undead dragons - attempt to raise Tiamat - Queen of the Dragons.

    After two years of plundering the lands, heroic fighters working on behalf of both the Order of the Gauntlet and the Harpers bring down Skyreach Castle and with that, the cult fails and goes into hiding.

    The Freezing
    Disaster / Destruction

    In the destruction of Skyreach Castle and its devastating return to the surface - the Castle collides into the mountains of Frost Maiden Pass. The immense impact causes snow and ice to be kicked up into the atmosphere, plunging the Northerly continent of the Elder Expanse into a sudden and permanent state of icy winter.

The Current Age

After the removal of the High Elves from Elderhaven, the Emperor organizes control of the lands, fortifying their position.

Maintained by Kings of the different regions under his rule.

Not all regions want or welcome inclusion into the Expanse.

    Crowning of King Holomere

    The freeze has caused hardship and turmoil within the Expanse. In an attempt to settle the region, the Emperor sends his son - Prince Holomere from Neverwinter to Chrachton Keep in Elderhaven, to take control and settle the lands.

    The big freeze threatens all across the Elder Expanse. Jacob Holomere, brother of the King brings a solution - A vast magical furnace. The furnace heats Crachton Keep and some of its outer populous. However keeping it lit is a challenge.

    The Marriage of King Holomere and Queen Swinzer
    Marriage

    The long awaited marriage of King Holomere to Queen Swinzer-Holomere. Meant to reinforce ties between Elderhaven and other regions, the relationship was one of convenience and to some suspicion.

    The Support of a Brother
    Life, Death

    King Holomere is suddenly taken deathly ill, raising suspicion among his people. To the extent that brother Jacob Holomere, previously alienated by the King - stands by his side. Back to health, the King swears to find out who carried out this cowardly act.

    The Incursion of Crachton Keep

    Less than 12 months after the suspected attempt on the life of King Holomere, Queen Swinzer-Holomere shows her true colours. An escort from her land, meant to be carrying aid, is found to be a military force. They attempt to attack Crachton Keep, however with both the support of the Dwarves and Jacob Holomere - her forces are defeated. The Queen is not seen again.
