Riverrush Spider

The Riverrush Spider is a type of arachnid habitated in the Arrowhead Rivers in the south of the Winterlands. The spider is well adapted for its icy and rapid domain. It forms magical nets on rocks that can withstand the force of the water, often at rapids in order to catch small fish, insects or loose plants coming down the stream. An ideal place for a net within the river would be between two large rocks, above the bottom of the river to keep large rocks out of the net. This is important, since once a spider has built the net it generally does not build a new one. It still sometimes happens that a rock gets caught it cannot remove. Then the spider builds a new net above the rock and severs the connection, releasing the stone and making the net effective again.
