Kyvanore

Kyvanore is a small but dazzling town on the northern coast of the Titan's Lake. It is known as a luxurious and expensive place, and a hub for established artists. Over the centuries, Kyvanore has had many famous citizens and has become a popular place to retire to for various famous figures. The people of the town benefit directly from its being along one of Miennach's busiest trade routes, with new products and shops appearing regularly along its coastline market.

People and Culture

The culture of Kyvanore is quite distinct from the other (especially northern) Miennan settlements. Privacy and distance are expected at all times, and everyday social interactions tend to be superficial and short, a sign of politeness in this town. This attitude is what attracts the rich and famous, or perhaps evolved out of their presence there. Still, Kyvanorans have a high reputation amongst many Syollans and are often treated well and with much politeness, though it usually remains unclear how genuine this politeness is.

Industry and Trade

Whilst it may be a hotspot for small-scale and private trade, Kyvanore sees very little of the aspect-level trade passing through. Some raw materials might find their way there every once in a while, and regular shipments of vital resources arrive to ensure the population is nourished. Still, the majority of produce traded in Kyvanore is of use to the individual, and more often than not a luxury rather than a necessity. Another large source of local income is from accommodations, since in recent years visits to Kyvanore have become more common.
Type
Town
"The population of Kyvanore is perhaps the most predictable: reserved, solitary, and with a mind-your-own-business attitude. I believe if it would not be severely detrimental to their tradespeople, Kyvanorans would have built a wall around their town and, for good measure, carved 'DO NOT ENTER' into it."
—Lennard Foxglove, The Tip of the Iceberg: Shining a light on Syoll’s wealthiest (published 1402)
