Farmer's Triumph

The Cultivator's Aspect

Farmer's Triumph is an idyllic and peaceful aspect in south-western Syoll. Almost all of Syoll's grain supply is grown and cultivated here, and a majority of the landscape is used for agriculture or as grazing land. It is also particularly popular as a retirement spot and seen by many Syollans as the ideal place to live.

Political Structure

The borders of the Triumphant holds are marked by bodies of water. Warrenvale includes everything along and south of the Borolenol, the Goldenfields lie west and south of Crosswin River (up to the western border of the Murmurwoods) and the Greenhills include everything north and east of Crosswin River up to the northern border with Riask's Marsh. The division of these holds was carefully decided to even out the quantities of exported materials, so every hold is contributing the same amount. Triad Representatives of Farmer's Triumph will come from anywhere, and while their main work is conducted in the capital, it is quite common for them to remain in their home settlement throughout most of their term.

People and Culture

Farmer's Triumph is one of Syoll's most higly populated aspects, and its cities are also some of the most densely populated. While outside of the cities it is common to travel a day or two without contact to any other people, a large part of the land is also managed by those that work it, so a lone house is a common site too. Additionally, Farmer's Triumph has some so-called "Bubble Cultures", which are communities that are quite distant and thus isolated from the rest, and often have a special deal regarding their political and economical autonomy. They are usually entirely self-sustaining, barely interact with outsiders, and vary in degrees of hospitality towards visitors.
The population of Farmer's Triumph is very reserved, and tend to be focused on concrete goals and fears. They are pragmatic and, similar to Miennach, value hard (physical) work, but share the Colliennan love for community and nature. Overall, they tend to be an outgoing and welcoming people, though they might get fast to defend their community against undesired outside influence. They often enjoy a fundamental sense of privacy and have thus earned the reputation of being superficial at times.

Travel

Travelling across Farmer's Triumph is usually quite safe, with many places to rest for the night and many signposts to guide travellers. While there are a number of paved roads south of the Borolenol, the rest of the aspect only really has dirt roads, if any (apart from the Lake Road). Most of the travel is conducted over water, since there is an abundance of calm rivers that lead between settlements. The capital is also equipped with a large airship dock, from which cargo-laden airships depart almost daily. While some are used for travel (particularly for journeys to and from Riask's Marsh), travel by ship or over ground is the more common and accessible method.

Resources and Contribution

Almost all of Syoll eats thanks to Triumphant agriculture. The Triumphant farms grow everything they are able to; grain, corn, vegetables, and fruit being the most important. Some also keep animals on vast ranches, adding to the produced goods for contribution. A lot of the time, however, animal products like eggs or milk remain in the aspect, or at least don't travel far. Covering a large amount of Syollan needs for food, there is almost an implicit guilt towards the Triumphant. However, the technologies, arcane assistance in developing preservation methods (which are vital for the transporting of perishable goods to the eastern aspects), and raw materials imported by the aspect in theory by far make up for this contribution.
Trade is incredibly active in Farmer's Triumph, both between aspects and within the aspect. Markets, travelling merchants, and even long-distance ordering of goods for delivery are an everyday essential, and are conducted in all manner of ways. The mostly open landscape and the many rivers make it possible to trade so much and often, while the abundance of verdant land ensures that most residents have the opportunity to cultivate their own unique tradeable goods.

"I can't understand why anyone would think we're the best aspect. Of course we have a gorgeous landscape that is tame but free, and we have people that welcome you with open arms. Anyone that comes here has the opportunity to build up their dream life and we're loved and appreciated for our contribution—actually, I take that back. I do understand."
—Denni the Lapwing, in an interview for the Syoll's Heart Herald (1337)
