Chagred
The capital of the the central hold of Riask's Marsh, Chagred is a coastal city built in the ribcage of Ajash-Khorsk, the Rotten-Toothed Devourer. While it does not have a properly constructed air dock, many airships utilise the skull of the creature to dock briefly and exchange cargo.
People and Culture
The values of Chagred are, very much like in the rest of the Aspect, physical strength and fighting abilities. This stems from the fact that the city is constantly in danger of monster attacks from both land and sea. Any members of the city guard is highly valued, and retired members will oftentimes get discounts and special honours. The population of Chagred has slowly declined since the middle of the 14th century, with many young citizens following different walks of life than the marshland can provide, and young families moving away for the safety of their children. The remaining people tend to be hardy fighters, old, or too poor to afford to move away.Architecture
Much of the structure of the city is aligned with the great skeleton; The ribcage marks the "walls", providing ease when constructing protective barriers, while the skull functions as an airship dock, lookout post, and resonating chamber for the alarm horn that alerts citizens to an oncoming monster. The ground upon which Chagred is constructed is soft and waterlogged, which provides little support for the wooden and only roughly built houses. This makes for a wonky and rickety skyline that has become characteristic for the city.

"My travels might have brought me to Chagred—that caricature of a city—had its detestable stench not wafted across the water to my ship as we approached it. I am forever grateful to myself that I did not sully my soul with that dirty, dismal place."—Amos Crawbridge, An Account of the World (published 1338)
