Session 4

While the apothecarian was busy curing the townsfolk, our heroes went back to the antique store of Ched. Here Vadania picked out an old elven quiver, and Heskan picked up a pair of magic dice.   While stumbling through the townsquare they overheard some gossip talking about townfolk who were missing. Enquiring further they learned one of the farmers of the town was missing, so they went to the farmers wife to ask her if she knew anything. The woman told them her husband had been fixing one of the fences at the edge of the woods and not returned since. Our heroes set of to investigate the scene, finding the tools of the farmer and some drag marks leading off into the woods. While investigating they chanced upon the halfling Phillip, he was a beekeeper and some of his bees had gone missing as well. The halfling suspected that the giant spiders of the Echo Forest were to blame. His theory was that the old queen or king, or possibly both, had died so the spiders of the forest were now hoarding tons of food to feed a new king or queen.   It turned out Phillip was right, following the drag marks our heroes stumbled upon a clearing in the woods covered in webbing. In the middle of the clearing stood several huge cocoons made of webbing. They slew the spiders responsible and opened up the cocoons. For the missing farmer it was too late but they did manage to save some of the bees.   The halfling was grateful for the return of his bees, although he also expressed his concern about the spider-problem reoccurring. One of the bees had grown particularly fond of Vadania, so as a form of thanks the halfling decided the creature was to join our heroes in their further quests....
