Jolnae, the God of Festivals and Music

The Panflute Papa, Footloose Fool

Jolnae is a bright and cheerful god, one that ensnares the races during times of celebration. The eccentric god's bright colored eyes flash with a brilliant reflection of rainbow and his cheeks glow with vibrant cheer and merriment. His laughs are extremely contagious and his mischievous pranks on all flow like the wine from his bottomless cup. Curly, short locks of gold radiates on the sun's lights of his his grin, arousing the most sour of moods. The god of festivals and music enjoys his station immensely, more so fluidly than others. Clad in a gorgeous shendyt of starlight, his skin kissed skin is adorned with various ornaments of tribes and cultures that know his name by the notion of celebrations. His body is fit and chiseled more than one would expect in an entity that indulges in constant debauchery of wine, liquor, and company. While Jolnae might seem to be more of a playful and non-violent entity, nothing is further from the truth. War dances, battle hymns, and marching to the beat of war falls in his domain. Sometimes a deciding factor of victory can be the morale of the troops and when one feels the thudding drums of battle in their heart, Jolnae will give that warrior the strength to fight past his last breath.   Bards have a particular affinity to the god of music. The celestial being embodies much of what makes a bard and the god has taken notice. When the celestial entity first awoke from his slumber during the dawn of the Third Age, scholars and priests depicted him very similar as they do to this day. However, as more worship and prayers from heroic bards came his way, something had begun to change in his very core. The god's aura now flows like musical notes, each step a choir that livens up the heart and mind and emboldens the weak ones of spirit.    These days, depictions of Jolnae always will embellish him with some sort of musical instrument. Sometimes, rival bards will duel with their chosen tool of the trade to see who the god favors this day. These duels are extremely enjoyable to watch and are not uncommon during popular festivals. Coins fly and fingers ply to their trade in vigorous battle, making all indulge in the honor to this god.
