"The Arcane Butcher"

The one known as "The Arcane Butcher" (or Asheria's Bane) is a ghost tale to many Asherans and a monster to those who have met this humanoid. A tall and lengthy figure with an aura of overwhelming power, the agent to The Sanguine Order collects trinkets of mages and wizards which they have defeated and wrap them around their limbs with pieces or shredded cloth. With pitted dark eyes of inky blackness, only punctuated by silver pupils under a ceremonial mask, the butcher is cold and confident in their actions and tone. The figure dresses itself in serene gold plated pauldrons, marked with one of the highest stations in its order. A yellow stained hood and flared gaiter neck is punctuated by a silvered mask adorned with elegant gold etchings. The mask gives a faint unearthly glow when in the presence of spellcasters to tell the monster that prey is nearby.   Despite the gaunt and even frail appearance of the butcher, there is nothing further from the truth. Tales of the butcher charging through battle and sending enemies flying abound. Feats of great strength, vigor, and speed of this tall humanoid are most likely greatly exaggerated. Survivors of an encounter with the butcher could be in a state of panic and falsely recollect the actions or the butcher is using some sort of magic items/illusionary magic to intimidate and make a boogeyman of itself.   The butcher had made many appearances in the past, making a name for itself on the battlefields and against magical defenses that Asheria would utilize in the form of magic items and focal points. One in particular conflict would leave a group of ancient pillars within Elmbridge Thicket in a pile of destroyed rubble. The pinnacle performance and most destructive appearance would be during the collapse and initial seize of power in Asheria. The butcher's appearance within the royal family's garden sent shock and alarm throughout the halls that would leave lingering ghosts of trauma to all that the butcher walked by. Marching directly into the royal chamber of crystalline etched marble, the remaining elite guards stood little chance and the halls ran red with desperation and blood of failure. To this day, it was unknown how the butcher located the fleeing ruling members but the appearance of Asheria's Bane atop the principality's balcony with the head of the former ruling king punctuated the end of the war.   Since that day, all appearances and traces of the butcher have disappeared. Perhaps this butcher was merely a weapon that was used and it had served its original purpose. Some state that the butcher was a modified warforged with an anti magic generating artifact. Others would claim this butcher was killed after the fall of Asheria by the queen in retaliation to her husband's death. The most logical reason for the disappearance is simply the job was complete and who or whatever the butcher was went home back to the order.
