Urdrax-Nar

Desolate, a word that describes the deserts and plateaus of Urdrax-Nar in it's entirety. These are lands left devastated by the mistakes of the past, and a reveal to scholars some of the history of what came before. The sands hide a vast collection of ruins, many only revealed by the whims of the wind, and the region is plagued by sandstorms, apex predators, and dangerous remnants of the ancient past still active after centuries. Though there are a few fortress cities built into the mountains and on the coast, the inhabitants of this region mostly live a nomadic lifestyle, roaming the desert and oasis' in large convoys of wagons or beasts of the desert.   Great warlords control the majority of the fortresses around the region, each carving a piece of this land off for themselves as they fight for habitable land and make frequent invasions into nearby Vahied and Eprana for resources. The roaming tribes usually pay tribute to the warlord of the region when they enter, this allows them to trade and set up camp without the threat of being raided or harrassed.

Notable Regions of Urdrax-Nar

Crown Ridge - Built into cliffsides of the central mountain range, Crown Ridge is the city and stronghold of Batu "Crystal Scale" Gon-Zorig. Nearly unassailable, the city spans several mountain sides and interiors that produce an astonishing amount of precious and rare metals. After Batu slew the former warlord who ruled here, Fraxildun, he spent many decades conquering neighboring warlords militarily or politically, freeing slaves from all over the southern continent and then consolidating them into a single united power. Now he uses that power to unite more of the wandering clans and march on Vahied and Eprana.   Sands of Discord - The Sands of Discord cover much of what is Southern Urdrax-Nar, a sprawling desert that stretches from the mountains to the coast. Although there are many oasis and even a large lake, the area is inhabited by dangerous burrowing creatures as well as a host of strange creatures who rampage through the desert heat. Treacherous as it might be, the area is filled with the remnants of an ancient civilization and many wandering tribes make trips to try to excavate artifacts for selling in other regions.   Rag-Dax Isles - Rag-Dax Isles are the islands to the far east of Urdrax-Nar and is home to a Warlord clan of the same name. They specialize in trade and naval piracy. Often found raiding merchant ships from Eprana and sometimes as far up as Melus and Vahied, these raiders are often somehow still the most agreeable of the warlords of Urdrax-Nar. Willing to trade, negotiate, and make alliances with other regions to secure their borders on the Isles, they control the largest swath of farmable land in Urdrax-Nar and are in near constant war against other warlords for control of it. Why fight for something you want, when a handshake and a deal will do justthe same.

Urdrax-Nar in the Dreamweaver Isles

With the naturally hostile enviroment of Urdrax-Nar, the warlords have seen an opprotunity in the Isles for expansion. The lush and unclaimed land hold not only resources, but the opprotunity to raid the new settlements and ships of Vahied and Castion far from the bulk of their naval forces. A number of smaller colonies have emerged throughout the edges of the Isles and are quickly becoming a constant threat to the other inhabitants of the sea.

Geography & Climate

Urdrax-Nar is a rocky, sandy expanse of plateaus and desert. Plagued by scorching heat by day and near freezing at night, minor settlements are located along one of the few rivers, coastlines, or oasis', while the few larger fortresses exsist in the mountains and plateaus in the heart of the region or ont he outer islands off the coast.
