Melus
Nature is Our Home
Melus is the land of community. Most of the population resides in smaller farming villages and settlements across the hills and plateaus of the region. Each of these towns and farms falls under the banner of one of the six major clans of Melus, families and tight knit communities that mostly govern themselves. Only convening when summoned by the clans druids. Their neighbors, Edros, has spent many decades interrupting the land trade routes south to Castion, causing much tension between the two regions who were on the brink of a war until the restructuring of rulership in Edros. With a new chances for cooperation and alliance now in the cards, the northern reaches of Ressoria are looking to become a much better place to live. Much of the lands of Melus are also inhabited by Nadur (Nay-dur), groups of forest and mountainfolk who call no one place home, and occasionally raid caravans, towns, and other regions. These groups are generally disdained by the clans and have suffered many retaliations from the hunting parties of dwarves in Thrayven's Hold in the western mountains, who seek retribution for their ransacked caravans. The Nadur grow in strength however, and it has become a problem that is getting harder to ignore or contain for all denizens of the northern regions.Melus in the Dreamweaver Isles
Melus currently has very little to do with the Isles. Their geographical location has prevented them from sending any serious expeditions across the continent to investigate the newly discovered Isles. Though some independant members of the clans may have pread into the are.Geography & Climate
Melus is made up of several valleys inland, and a hill/plateau filled outer region closer to the coast. Large pine forests and lakes dot the landscape throughout the valleys, while the outer areas have less trees and are harsher to traverse due to the inclines. Summers and spring are generally temperate. while autumns and winters are cold but not quiet freezing except in the northern regions.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
