Eldred Grail, Dread Mistress of the Wailing Cage
"There is always room for fools in the Wailing Cage."
Tales of the Dread Mistress are are rarely passed about between sailors of the Dreamweaver Isles, and when they are the Mistress' name is never used. For to speak her name is said to invite doom upon your ship and your crew. It was said that she was once a noble woman from Vahied who traveled to the Dreamweaver Isles to visit her husband who was on an archeolgy expedition. However when she arrived, her and the sailors she was with found the expedition site completely empty. Tents and supplies left laying around as if no one had time to grab anything before leaving, the only clue to their location being the dozens of sets of footprints leading down into the ruins that had been unearthed. That night, the entire crew, the ship, and Eldred Grail disappeared. For forty-nine years the legend of the Grail Expedition was just that, a legend, told to children in the Isles to ward them away from the jungles and odd places. Now the legend lives. The Dread Mistress began to sail the archipelago as captain of a ship made of pristine bones one night each month. On these nights, her dreadful galleon can appear anywhere across the Dreamweaver Isles to capture lone vessels with ease. No ship is more feared in the starlit night than Wailing Cage whose black flag bears the words "Hope Vanishes" written in the Vahied language. Her ship is suspected to be made of the bones of various creatures, and the crew appears as a number of different undead ranging from skeletons, zombies, and spirits. The Dread Mistress herself is some sort of spirit, binding the souls of her victims to herself to become more powerful, she stands amid a whirling swarm of shackled spirits that rage against their fate. Beware the wailing on open waters, or you may be the next to serve in the cage.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
