Ensinthium
Ensinthium is a crystal-like ore native to the Dreamscape that is unaffected by Somnium. This material is pitch black and is only found in perfectly circular geodes that are created deep beneath the mountains of Kadath. Each geode gives a piece of ore the size of a baseball. Only one geode is produced every 10 Sun Cycles and they are always miles below the surface making them almost impossible to reach. Due to its creation at such depths, it has a very high density and is close to unbreakable. Ensinthium is highly valuable in the Dreamscape due to its prophetic nature and extreme rarity. It has many different uses all of which have some connection to the future.
The most common use of Ensinthium is to get a small piece and have a craftsman mold it down into the size and shape of a coin giving one side a symbol and the other side is left blank. Due to the powers of the ore, the coin acts as a tool for divination meaning it can give a glimpse into the future given the right chance. If you ask a question aloud while holding the coin then flip it, the coin gives you an answer with the marked side indicating a positive answer while the unmarked side represents a negative answer. Despite this being the most common use of Ensinthium, the coins are rarely found throughout Dreamlands due to the scarcity of the substance and how powerful it can be.
If you manage to polish Ensinthium down, a process that takes roughly a decade and requires a skilled craftsman due to the ore's durability, the reflection shown provides you a vision of your future. However this takes a toll on your mental sanity depending on the quality of the surface. If it is undamaged and shiny it provides a crystal clear view of the future with exact details. However, if the surface is impure or scratched then its image is vague and undetailed.
Sharpening the ore into a blade makes a deadly weapon capable of both physical and mental damage. If you get cut by on of these blades, you see the scene of your death and once seen, it cannot be changed. This makes these weapons highly sought after and all the more difficult to find. It takes a large amount of Ensinthium to make and kind of pure weapon and the process of sharpening it into a blade takes centuries and requires the work of many skilled craftsmen. These weapons are known as Blades of Reckoning and very few currently exist.
