The Fate of the Devils

  The lower planes have existed long before the Greenwold came into existence, and will exist long after. A dark mirror of the glorious abodes of the gods above, the Nine Circles are a necessary part of the balance of Good and Evil in the cosmos.   When the gods left the world behind, the mortal races were left to their own devices. Those who built the Silent Castle chose to drink deep of the power offered by the devils. Their hubris and greed lives on, for the builders live there still - motionless through the ages, trapped in a fate of their own making by the devils they bound.   Immortal and tireless, the devils wait for their time to come again. As the millennia drag on, the powerful Archdevil trapped in the boundary of the castle grows ever more restless...waiting to be freed from its confines. When it does so, the circles of hell will surely shake. Those who stand in its way will need to be prepared.
