Knights of the Spire

Griffin Riding Knights tracing their lineage back to the Dragon Wars. All Knights of the Spire are required to swear an oath never to interfere directly with the course of action of any true dragon. In return, dragons honor that same oath toward the knights. This dual oath goes all the way back to the founding of the Order. The blazing beacon which the knights tend at their mountain citadel was originally lit by dragon flame (and should it ever go out, dragon flame is all that can re-light it). As a result of their oath, the Spire has served as a rare sort of “neutral” territory for all dragons, good and evil alike. This oath is one of the cornerstone tenants of the Spire’s beliefs. To break it is to not only to invite expulsion from the knighthood, but to jeopardize the future of the entire order.
