The Lich can take on multiple forms, however, the forms are always related to the species of the being he is interacting with.
Towards species like Asgardians, Humans, and Kryptonians the Lich appears as the skeletal remains of a monstrous human-like being. According to some, it wears dreary black robes, while others have seen it without any clothes to speak of.

The personal history of the Lich is unknown to all though some presumptions have been made.

Odin believes that the Lich is a weapon or tool created by the Jötunn, more specifically Surtur, to end the universe because of their jealousy of him and the power he holds.Freya

Hela believes that the Lich and the Mēdén Void are more akin to that of a rot infecting and killing a tree. She does not believe the Lich to be a conscious entity or being and that it only reflects the fear of death and non-existence of the people who come into contact with it.Alex Daddario

The Lich appears to only have one goal, to erase everything in the universe. No one knows if this is Lich's own will or if it is a tool being used by someone else to erase the universe.
