Jermon Verelfeth was a mage who lived in the Time of Terrors and seized control of the government of Zalgurim in 3053 APC.
He formally disbanded the Council of Eight, the previous rulers of the city but they continued to meet in secret.
In 3125 APC, the Revolt of the Eight was an attempt to regain power which Jermon ruthlessly defeated, executing the heads of two important families who had supported the coup in an event known as the Execution of the Eight
Three years later Jermon died from a combination of medical conditions that were probably due both to simple ageing and to a likely overdose of Synaptic Unbinding Potion. This allowed the Council of Eight to regain control of Zalgurim once again in a bloodless fashion.
