Avarance : Sky Surfing

The gas giant Avarance is home to the sport of sky surfing. The idea is to take advantage of a high density difference between two layers of the complex atmosphere to pancake metallic "boards" dropped from glass like air balloons using only a miniumum of power which should be cut completely just before attempting to bounce on the thicker cloud layer below. The principle is similar to skipping stones on water but on a much, much bigger scale. The contest is to achieve the most and furthest bounces using the least fuel, and contestants ride inside the boards.
